Handog ng EMBOA sa 500 na Kabataang Kapos Palad ngayong Pasko

Ermita Malate Business Owners Association (EMBOA)

You can see about 500 less fortunate children all smiles after receiving a gift and after watching the Christmas Carols in an event by EMBOA in partnership with the local government of Manila and other private sectors in lieu of the Christmas celebration.

The Christmas spirit was felt in that fun-filled celebration that was themed “Maligayang Pasko, Handog Pasasalamat ng Ermita Business Owners Association (EMBOA)”, at Remedios Circle, Malate, Manila last December 17, 2015.

According to Michelle Pe, president of EMBOA, the said occasion is one of their ways to give thanks for the 16 Barangays that partnered with EMBOA in community building, for the people, organizations and other entities that offered their time, and energy for the progress and beautification of the whole Ermita, Malate.

Ms. Michelle Pe also assured that the organization will continue to strive to revive the splendor of Ermita Malate and to further introduce the place to the whole world as one of the safest, historical and enjoyable tourist spot/attraction of the country.

“This Christmas season, we wanted to share joy, love, happiness, and peace to the people most especially to the less fortunate kids. We want them to know that we care for them same as we care a lot for the development of Ermita Malate.”, said Pe.

More or less 500 young people  ages 7 to 12 years old are blessed with gift bags that came from the 16 local barangays in Ermita Malate while about 1,ooo people attended the fun-filled occasion.

Some member schools of South Manila Education Consortium (SMEC) also took part in sharing joy during the event including the (Philippine Women’s University (PWU) choir who sang Christmas carols. Meanwhile, the UDM dancers rocked the stage with their awesome performance.

Meanwhile, in the near future there would be more projects and activities i.e. for peace, development of open spaces like Park in Remedios Circle, Massive clean up drives, and other events of EMBOA for the year 2016 in accordance with its plan to bring back the splendor and beauty of Ermita Malate.

EMBOA Hotel tour around Ermita:

We also went around Ermita Malate to see with our own eyes the beauty of Ermita Malate at night. We went around to tour on the hotels that are part of EMBOA. We were devided into 3 batches and per batch there’s a corresponding group of hotels that were assigned for us to visit.

The hotels that were divided into groups are:

  1. Miramar Hotel
  2. Hotel Kimberly
  3. Manila Manor
  4. Where2next Hostel
  5. Mabini Pension
  6. City Garden Suites, Lotus Garden, Ibarra’s
  7. Malate Pensionne
  8. Rosas Garden
  9. Bayview Park Hotel
  10. Belagio Square

Although the last one isn’t really a hotel. It’s a central area that has an events area at the center which is usually used for bands set up during the weekends, basically it is very lively during the night because it’s surrounded by bars and restaurants. Party goers spend time to chill and enjoy the night with their friends.

The first one that our group went to is the Rosas Garden Hotel. It’s located at M. H. Del Pilar St, Ermita, Manila, 1000 Metro Manila, Philippines.

Your home away from home at the heart of Manila. It is a single proprietorship that is duly registered and accredited by Philippine Department of Tourism. Its entertainment center also is an ideal escape of both business travelers and leisure guests alike.

Next stop: Where2Next

It’s not your average hostel. When we arrived at the Where2Next, it had a homey feels. The welcoming was very warm and we were greeted like travelers who came to seek shelter for a night or 2.

The receiving area was like a really big living room. You can pretty much do anything there, eat, watch tv, play games with fellow hostel guests, etc. There’s also a pantry, a karaoke room and a smoking lounge.

there are wall art and inspirational quotes scattered all over the place and graffiti art in every floor, even inside their rooms which are travel themed.

They have lined up activities for their guests like demo cooking and market day where they are taught delicious low-cost meals and how to shop at the wet market for fresh goods. They also have restaurant hopping once a week. The manager said that it’s kind of like spoon-feeding but it’s their strategy to make their guest enjoy more and would want to keep coming back. That’s why, through their hands on effort, they were awarded by various travel award giving bodies for their excellent service. Bellow is their price list of rooms. Feel free to browse through the pictures. You can book also through tripadvisor and any other hotel booking facilities/apps.

We went to Hotel Rothman and then our last stop is at Bellagio Square.
